More Interesting Facts For Beginners To Winners Pointers

D (Distance) CD (Course and distance) winners
Depending on the race a selection that has won at the distance (D)is a good sign at least you know
it can handle the distance, does not mean it will win but it ticks a box.Same with a selection that has
won at the course(C) also ticks another box, some horses like running one way , some courses are left
handed others are right handed so it is good knowing at least it can handle the track, also some horses
DO perform better at some tracks they actually like a certain track, not all are like this.
So a (CD) winner tell us atleast the horse in question can run at the distance and the course.

HorseRacing

Horse Write up
In the Racing Post there is under the race card there is the SPOTLIGHT write up.Read the spotlight and if your
selection has a positive write up and in capitals or racing post nap, just helps confirm PROVIDING its your selection.
Also when choosing your selection click on the horse and read the last race report if the last race is see distance
and going etc and report states NOT CLEAR RUN and it finished close 2nd or 3rd then a bigger run is possible.
or positive comments 'RAN ON WELL' etc also a positive .also check out courses if they have an incline in last
few furlongs (UPHILL) newmarket is one and that last race was a positive comment ran on etc, and next race today
is on an uphill course last few furlongs , it will be another box ticked, IF HOWEVER it said NEGATIVELY ALLOUT
or NO EXTRA final furlong then discard your selection.
HorseRacing

GOING
The Going of the course IS one of the MOST important aspects to be considered a very important
form attribute. I know when one does not know about racing one would assume that all horses will run on the
same ground NO WAY, MY BIGGEST ADVICE IS WHEN THERE IS BAD WEATHER and a change in going
is possibly happening at the race time LEAVE RACE ALONE and when lots of rain has been happening for
days and ground is on the heavy side just LEAVE IT ALONE AND WAIT.
SO GOING CAN BE FIRM (VERY DRY GROUND HARD not good for some horses joints they can break down)
known as fast going. GOOD TO FIRM (Is the best all round betting going )then there is GOOD then Good to Soft
and then there is Soft then HEAVY , whatever the going one needs to check if the selection can handle the going
if there is over 50% runners with NO FORM (Not run on this going before) leave the race alone as one of them
could be more than up for it .

Handicaps versus Non-Handicaps
Handicapping as im sure you know is supposed to make the race far to all.It brings together horses of
varying levels of ability. Handicapper are very knowledgeable people, who way up the past performance of
each horse and give all a weight allowance according to that. The idea being that the better horses in the
race carry more weight than the poorer horses. So in theory, all horses in a handicap have an equal chance of
winning, if they all run to the best of their ability they should all win, Joke Joke.
The weight to be carried by a horse in a handicap is determined by the horse's Official RatingThis is a
figure given to every horse after one of the following happens.
1. The horse wins a race2. The horse loses 3 times and in at least one of these races the horse finishes in the
first six positions If it does not get a top six finish in the first three runs, then it must continue racing until it
achieves top six position before it receives an Official Rating. The Official Rating is often abbreviated to OR.Once
the horse has it's official rating, it can then contest a handicap race.

But there are many things that can mess up this scientific approach, it is far from perfect, for one thing
if a trainer runs his horse
before the handicapper gets to his horses generaly under 7 days , can give the horse an advantage.
plus some unscrupulous trainers can run there horse at the wrong distance so it looks worse than it is
and handicapper can lower its weight in the next race , to give it an advantage.same early season
when some horses have no particular form, it does not work so good, infact large odds often do come in
,when in theory they should not.
Once the horse has an Official Rating it is used in calculating what weight it will carry in a handicap race.
The actual weight is in relation to the rest of the runners' ratings. Basically, the rating will relate to pounds
in weight. This means that, for example, a horse with a rating of 55 will carry 10lbs less than a horse in the
same race which is rated at 65.
Handicaps have different levels; races are classed as A/B/C/D/E/F/G. With A being the highest class handicaps
and G being the bottom grade handicaps. The horse's official rating will determine which grade of race it
can enter. So, if after 3 runs a horse gets given a rating of 55, it may, for example, contest a class
E; a 0-75 handicap.
For the rest of the horse's career its rating will adjust according to how it performs. If it wins races its rating
will increase, and it will have to contest better races. And if it loses, the rating will drop and it will stay
contesting low grade races.
Horse's ratings are assessed once a week by the handicapper, so it is possible for a horse to rattle up
two or three wins in a week and being allowed to race off the same rating. The handicapper can only make
the horse run with a penalty; three, five or seven pounds, if it turns out quickly after a win, so although the
handicapper would like to raise the horse perhaps by ten or fourteen pounds the next time he re-assesses,the
trainer can unleash him again off what would be a lenient rating compare to what it will be a few days later.

If You choose to back horses in handicaps, make sure your selection has WON before in a Hdcp.Alot of people
back the top weight because the top weight should be the best horse right, but good rule of thumb is max 5lbs
up on last run flat race or 10lbs jumps race.
Also if heavy sticky ground TOP weight not such a help and lower weights in this instance cannot be underestimated.
I personally DO NOT back horses in hdcps if more than 10 runners.
and as non handicaps are more easy to predict a result, for max profit DO NoT back any horse in handicaps.
One last thing if a horse has run less than 7 days previously, so is race fit , they can actually handle an upgrade,
race in a higher class, or course grade. and do not be fooled by its lower weight, remember the handicapper
has not caught up to it yet.

HorseRacing

Days since ran
This is one aspect that you can strait away tell you the 'fitness' of the horse any runner from 2 days to 4 days
is exceptionally 'Race Fit' then 5 days to 8 days is very fit, but (and there is always a but?) does not mean a
horse who has NOT run for 200 or 300 days is NOT fit.
Let me explain some trainers horses need that first run about generally speaking the higher the quality of
the horse the less they get run, but all horses that have raced less than 7days ago ARE VERY RACE FIT
Also they tend to be able to handle a slight up grade to a higher class (providing) they showed good a result
and position in last race) and can over come some extra weight, so Days since ran do point to
a poss profitable horse.take note of the following 1st last time out up to 8days, 2nd up to 14 days,
3rd up to 39 days, 4th 20 to 60 days,
write down all horse races that qualify providing no more than 1 horse qualifies and see what happens.

Horse Racing

Quantity of runners
Not too much to tell you, except the more runners you have in a field the more chance your horse has of
being beaten, it can be taken down if a horse fall in front or held up because it is trapped and cannot
get out, barged and bumped (scrimmaging) so stick to races between 6 and 12 runners.
There can be a negative side to less horses and that is the odds are generally lower, but there is more
chance of a win.
If your betting for fun fine back in as large a field as you like.
ANY HORSE 4/1 OR LESS HAS TO BE RESPECTED ESPECIALY IN A LARGER FIELD.
Ideal qty of runners is 8 odds can be a little better and a good strike rate 5 to 8 runners.thats all i have to say today,
If profit and strike rate is important to you stick to5 to 12 runners.

Horse Racing

RACE VALUE
JUST A VERY QUICK LINE ON THIS If your selection is in a race which is £2000 less than its previous race
(where it came 1st or came close 2nd or 3rd) it is a big plus)
Thats it not much , but when running well in a better quality race prev and this race down in race value definitely a benefit.
You wont find many but you you find some.

RATINGS
This wont take long
SO what do I mean by ratings I relate to the racing post ratings RPRany horse 'CLEAR Top Rated' and fav has a better chance
of winning,it has to be clear top rated by at least 1 pt NOT JOINT.
IT is JUST ANOTHER interesting FACTOR MORE HORSES SAME RATING THE MORE OPEN THE RACE IS so any horse HIGHEST RATING
is not highest for nothing, its not a complete win pointer but assists in the puzzle and one part worth looking at with all other
pointers.Quite a few win even if not fav

Horse Racing

SP position
All Sp's are relative to the flow of money and interest in each horse, so what can we learn from this.example= 1Minute before
the off at the post time 4/5,4/1,6/1,12/1,16/1 etc this shows you that the fav in this race at 4/5 is very well supported and has
3 pts over 2nd in sp, any horse fav with 3 pts or more ia a very strong fav now on average fav win up to 30% of the time, and
with 3 pts different has increased the fav chance of winning wether you back odds on is up to you.
Another example 2/1, 3/1, 5/1, 8/1, 15/1 etc, the fav in this example is only 1 pt different to 2nd fav so has a less chance of winning
probably as low as 10% chance.
Something could be lurking in this race to beat the fav actually the 2nd fav is 2 pts above the 3rd fav and so is better value a bet.
Another example is to watch the betting up to 5 minutes before the off to see if we can pick a possible 'GAMBLE' HORSE' ACTUALLY
2 WAYS TO DO THIS, Watching sp's 5minutesto going down to going behind any horse moved 4 pts has a possible gamble factor
example only 12/1 to 8/1 or 8/1 to 4/1 or higher ,you can look at racing post odds and any horse 4 pts down ,providing the only
one is a possible great bet OR NOT, 5/1 plus must be bet ew.so the sp's can tell you lots however there is no definite in this game
, also suppose you want to bet the fav and your horse goes out say from evs say to 11/4 is a negative but does not prove that it will
lose. so if you choose a selection , if you have the time always wait as long as you can , just before the off bet it , sometimes you
can get a worse price sometimes a better price, IF you are betting the fav wait untill going behind to get 'THE FAV'.ok

TipstersNot much to tell you on this one eitherNOW I am not suggesting you take notice 100% of any tipsters
BUT they are a possible guide, when looking in the racing post and the more tipsters say any one particular horse the stronger
its chance? also its odds will drop, but again can be used as another guide in your choices.

Racing Horse

TRAINER & JOCKEY %
HI againSo now we are going to look at trainer and jockey percentages.
This can be a very good indication, as some trainers perform better at some courses than others and certain race
types, also same with jockeys, also some jockeys with certain trainers do better.
Now thats worth knowing, check your selection trainer and jockey by clicking on the trainer and jockey,
also trainers horses come in and out of form, so check how the trainers doing if won several and several close misses in the last
few days is a great indication of the trainer coming into form.

Thats given you some home work.

Hope This Helps and Enjoy your Race Betting
But NEVER bet with Money You can Ill Afford To Lose
Best Wishes
